Drive within the legal limits and follow all normal safe driving procedures.
Drive more slowly. Know where you can stop should conditions become too hazardous.
If the driving conditions make you tense or uneasy, leave the driving to someone else.
Use the internet: check weather, get driving directions, know where to avoid traffic and low lying water.
Never gamble on low water crossings. Ever.
Leave more distance between you and other car on the road
Before you leave, make sure that there are no leaves or debris stuck between your wipers and windshield. I usually forget to do this, and it drives me nuts!
Know how to use your brakes. Do not pump anti-lock braking.
Use your daytime driving lights or fog lamps.
If you have a sun/moon roof or convertible top that leaks, have it fixed. The incoming water may serve as a dangerous driving distraction.
Get regular maintence checks. You will improve performance, save money, avoid unnecessary breakdowns as well as ensure your safety. Check your owner's manual for recommended maintenance schedules. If you can't find yours, give us a call. We have an up-to-date database of manufacturers' maintenance recommendations.
Bring your phone in case of emergency, but try not to use while driving.
