struts & shocks
Why shocks and Struts?

While many drivers consider shocks and struts a comfort feature, they hold an integral part in the viability of a vehicle.  A bumpy ride is not just jarring on its passengers; it’s hard on other chassis parts.

More importantly, they play a very vital role in the vehicular safety, allowing safe steering, stopping and stability.

Extensive independent testing has shown that a single worn shock absorber can severely degrade a vehicle's ability to stop in an emergency situation.  Vehicles with just one worn shock may be more likely to lose control or exit the roadway in sudden maneuvers of avoidance.
HOW IT WORKS-The VERY basic Physics of Ride Control

You probably already know all of this but have never really thought about it when driving.

Newton's First Law states that an object at rest tends to stay at rest and an object in motion tends to stay in motion with the same speed and in the same direction unless acted upon by an unbalanced force.

Newton's Second Law states that for each action there is an equal and opposite reaction.

It's all about motion, and motion control.

A lot of things can affect vehicles in motion.  Speed, weight distribution, road conditions and weather are some just some of those factors. The suspension system, including the shocks, struts and springs, must be in good condition. Worn suspension components may reduce the stability of the vehicle and reduce driver control. They may also accelerate wear on other suspension components.
 Lessens driver fatigue
 Manages suspension movement
 Allows for consistent handling and braking
 Prevents premature tire wear
 Assists tires to “grip” the road

 Maintains dynamic alignment
 Controls vehicle roll and jerking
 Decreases wear on vehicle’s other systems
 Facilitates uniform tire and brake wear
